Overcoming Life Challenges Make Us Better

There is one guarantee in life: it will greet us each day with a new life challenge. Don’t view it as bad—this is a blessing in disguise. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. famously said the following on the subject:

“The ultimate measure of a man is not where he stands in moments of comfort and convenience, but where he stands at times of challenge and controversy.”

Dr. King was spot on. He understood that when everything in life is moving along smoothly, there is no growth. Without a problem to solve or an issue to handle, we are temporarily stagnate. It is during these times that we dig deep, uncovering our true potential and ability to get things done. A win in the end is what life is all about.

As an entrepreneur, life has taught me how to be flexible, and how to keep forging ahead no matter what obstacle is in the way. Loose a customer? Go and get another two to take their place. Is a key employee now working for your competition? Tap your inner skills and locate, train, and inspire a real leader to take his place.

People or circumstances do us “favors” all the time. When life gets too comfortable and without test, watch out! Look back on your life right now. Think about the time that you broke up with the person you were dating, you lost your job, or maybe your computer crashed. What did you do? Did you crawl in a corner and wither away? Absolutely not! Yes, you were hurt, uncertain about your financial security, and pissed off, but you got through it.

If You Aren’t Working Through A Life Challenge You Aren’t Living.

To remain in the same spot, as the same person day after day, and year after year would be crime. With so many experiences to have and to learn from, your life has just begun. Overcoming the trials makes up our one and only life. It is the journey not the destination. Stay motivated by surrounding yourself with the positive energy found in motivational speakers and books. Remember through it all, you are becoming the best you the world will ever have the pleasure of knowing.
